Believe it or not, accounting was not my first choice, when l finished high school.
Thinking that accounting was boring, I majored in philosophy instead but I soon realised that accounting was far more than mere numbers. It was about problem solving and helping people achieve their goals, helping others achieve their goals, is still something I am passionate about today.
Getting my grounding initially with a big four firm, in Deloittes, was a great way to break into the profession. Working with businesses to meet all their accounting needs gave me an appreciation of the myriad of concerns business face every day, and how we could assist them, from compliance to smart tax strategies and asset protection.
Spending over a decade as a CFO taught me to look at a business from the inside, with budgeting, cashflow, forecasting and KPI’s at the fore, experience that most tax accountants do not possess.
When it came time to create our own firm, we looked at both our heritage and to the future. We chose Delphi to represent the Delphic Oracle, which in ancient times provided sage advice and insight. We saw this as a metaphor to the type of value we seek to bring to our clients.
With an eye to the future, we are completely cloud-based, able to work from anywhere with anyone, no matter where they reside. Embracing technology has meant we are able to complete the compliance work more efficiently allowing us to focus on adding value for our clients.
We do not charge hourly rates, preferring instead to offer a fixed price package, where there are no hidden surprises, and you can budget for our services. You do not pay us for our time, you pay us for our knowledge and expertise.
